Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is the 4th game in the main-stream series. It focuses around Keira Hagai trying to become the next Eco Sage after her father Samos. There is a shortage of Eco in the world, and as a result Jak, Daxter and Keira go to the Brink - the edge of the world - to find a large eco source, and save the world. Due to the shortage of Eco, however, Jak cannot transform into Dark Jak or Light Jak.

[edit] Release Information

The game was officially released in North America on the 3rd of November, and worldwide on the 20th of November. It is availble on both the Playstation Portable - the first for a main game in the series - and the Playstation 2. There is no guarantee of any future release for the game on the Playstation 3, but any game that is played on the PS2 can usually be played on some versions of the PS3(20 GB, 40GB, and the original 80GB). However, since High Impact Games is a company that doesn't usually deal in PlayStation 3 games, it is unlikely that the game will be ported to PS3.

Since the game was announced on April Fool's Day, many fans believed that the announcement was a hoax, and therefore the game would not exist. However, according to an article on IGN, a demo of the game had been played by a select few people.

[edit] Characters

Apart from Jak, Keira and Daxter, no original characters have returned to the series. However, a new cast of characters has been introduced.

Keira appears much more grown up (with longer hair and now donning a jacket). Jak wears new aviation attire,, has similar hair to Jak X: Combat Racing and is clean shaven (However, a goatee, mustache and beard can all be purchased for Jak). Daxter doesn't appear to have changed much, except for wearing his new denim pants from the end of Jak 3.

New characters include Phoenix, captain and leader of the Sky Pirates, and his sidekick Klout. Duke Skyheed appears as the governor of the Aeropans, and appearing by his side is the Chancellor Russkin. Also of significance is Tym, an old, somewhat senile man who does not remember a lot about what happened before he met Jak, but is an expert in mechanics.
