Red Eco is one of the four main types of coloured eco. It has only been found in its physical form in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and Jak X: Combat Racing, however it can be found in Jak II, Jak 3 and The Lost Frontier in the form of ammunition for the Red Gun Mod series. In essence, it is the eco of immense strength.
The Red Eco Sage has spent his life studying Red Eco and, unlike his 3 comrades, is quiet, peaceful and calm, slightly contradicting the properties of Red Eco.
In the first game, Red Eco is used to strengthen Jak's attacks (punching and kicking). It is common in places like Misty Island and Snowy Mountain with enemies that are armoured and difficult to kill.
It is rare to find any Red Eco Vents. However, there are some that can be found in Snowy Mountain. These are necessary to obtain all of the Power Cells in that level, as their are Lurker Citadels that are being guarded by Lurkers that are wearing tough armor that cannot be broken through simple attacks, which makes it so that Jak must use Red Eco to strengthen his attacks to break through their armor and take over the Citadels.
 Jak II and Jak 3
As aforementioned, Red Eco is not available in physical form in these games, however it provides amunition for the Red Gun Mod series, found in the form of a solid type of gun ammunition. It plays no further role in these games.
The Scatter Gun is possibly the strongest gun next to the Peace Maker (which uses Dark Eco), and it uses only Red Eco. It is a powerful weapon, and all of its ammo, Red Eco, can be found in the KG Crates that are spread around the world in various spots of the game.
 Jak X: Combat Racing
Red Eco supplies back weapons, like mines and shields, during a race. They can be found on all tracks scattered around.
The Red Eco Cup is (obviously) named after Red Eco.
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
Red Eco plays a bigger role in The Lost Frontier. It is the basis of the first Eco Power that Jak gains - the Eco Amplifier - and also one of the first Gunstaff mods. It retains its purpose of being a powerful type of eco.
There are also a number of Eco Power-ups for Red Eco, most of which include the improvement of melee abilities, mainly strength. They are relatively expensive, however.
