Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is the 4th game in the main-stream series. It focuses around Keira Hagai trying to become the next Green Sage after her father Samos while saving the world from Dark Eco.

Release Information

This will be released this Autumn on both the Playstation Portable, which is the first for a main stream game, and the Playstation 2. There is no news of any release on the Playstation 3, but any game that is played on the PS2 can usually be played on some versions of the PS3(20 GB, 40GB, and the original 80GB).

However, since High Impact Games is a company that doesn't usually deal in PlayStation 3 games, it is unlikely that the game will be ported to PS3.

Since the game was announced on April Fool's Day, many fans believe that the game will not exist. However, according to an article on IGN, a demo of the game has been played by a select few people.

E3 2009 Conference

A trailer was released at the E3 2009 Conference and can be viewed here.

The "Pirates" that were mentioned by IGN previewers are properly referred to as Sky Pirates, and it is now clear that Dark Eco is making its return, since some enemies dropped it. You can also see the new Gunstaff in action.

In terms of characters, Keira seems much more grown up (with longer hair and now donning a jacket). Jak wears the attire he originally wore in Jak II, has much shorter hair (with no more green in it) and has finally shaved off his goatee. Daxter doesn't appear to have changed much, except for wearing his new denim pants from the end of Jak 3.
