Daxter is a spin-off game that takes place in between the time where Jak has been captured, and to where Daxter eventually rescues him from the hands of Baron Praxis. It is a midquel between Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and Jak II, featuring Daxter as the main character for the first time. The game is exclusively available for the Playsation Portable.

At the beginning of the game it shows the intro movie for Jak II and shows how Daxter escapes. During the game you meet an old bug exterminator named Ozmo, and Daxter starts a job as his assistant. Later on in the game you meet his son and a young woman called Taryn who provides upgrades to Daxter's Bug Sprayer.

Characters

• Daxter - A good friend of Jak and an egotistical ottsel(A cross between an otter and a weasel). Main protagonist of the game who the player will control.

• Ozmo - An old bug exterminator who assigns Daxter his missions.

• Taryn - A sweet young woman who Daxter has a "soft spot" for. She gives Daxter new upgrades to his bug sprayer.

Collectibles

• Green Blobs - These green blobs recharge your sprayer. You should try to get them all, as you will most definitely need them.

• Metalbug Gems - These are essential as they help you proceed in the game.

• Health Packs - Health packs are same as they are in Jak 2 and replenish 2 bars of Daxter's health. They use the power of Green Eco.

• Precursor Orbs - Precursor Orbs are used as a currency. They can be used to unlock secrets or new Dream Sequences.
